History
Power Cup is the world’s largest four-day volleyball event for children and young people. The event brings together all kinds of sports enthusiasts, new enthusiastic experimenters, junior coaches, guardians, families, troopers and community members.
The event’s unique match system guarantees everyone games from Thursday to Sunday. The total number of matches over four days is over 4,700.
The event is always held on the first weekend of June after school closes.
The first tournament was held in 1985 in Jyväskylä. The first four events were known as the “Co-Match Tournament”. Since 1989, the event has been renamed the Power Cup. The number of participants in the event has grown rapidly in recent years. The 2007 Power Cup held in Lahti was the largest so far, with 954 registrations.
